We are pleased to announce that Angela Ward will be our first Assistant Principal.
Angela Ward is a University of Calgary graduate with a major in elementary education and minor in special education. In 2006, Angela graduated with a Masters of Educational Leadership degree from City University. Angela began teaching for RDCRS in 1998 within the Strategies, Stepping Stones and Foundations programs. With the phasing out of some of these programs, Angela then moved into elementary teaching positions as well as supporting teachers in the leadership roles of Learning Coach, LIFT Inclusion Lead and school counsellor. Many RDCRS administrators, teachers and outside school divisions have been welcomed into Angela's classroom as she displays her innovative teaching style in the areas of Daily 5, Math Daily 3, and most recently, Alternative Classroom Design.
Angela and her family enjoy spending time in the faith community of Sacred Heart Church. Angela has been an active member as a RCIA sponsor and catechism teacher while also organizing social justice projects in the various schools she has taught in.
May God continue to bless the work of Angela alongside students, parents and staff as she works with her team to bring Catholic education to St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. Angela will begin her administrative role in August 2017.
